We will walk on limestone rocks from millions of years ago, taking a look some unique fossils, flora and fauna of this natural park as well as enjoying a wonderful viewpoint. We will visit the largest complex of prehistoric sepulchral ‘little grottos’ in northern Sardinia, preserving the relics of a civilisation that lived more than five millennia ago. We jump to the Nuragic Period (XVI BC), in a village shrouded in legend, among the most important that the Nuragic civilisation left us. Between Roman bridges and ancient harbours, Catalan towers and military outposts from the Second World War, we will reach the present day. It will be an archeonatural tour, it will be a tour taking you back to the past, it will be the Millenial Tour.
ITINERARY:
17:00: Meeting and small briefing at the meeting point in Alghero (Via Lido 73, Alghero).
17:15: Anghelu Ruju will be the first location, the largest complex of prehistoric sepulchral ‘little grottos’ in northern Sardinia (4200 BC)
18:00: Jump to the past and into the Nuragic Civilitation discovering the most wonderful site in North-west area. (1600 BC)
19:00: We will walk and find out more about a natural environment of Capo Caccia, between amazing cliffs, small coves, ancient towers and amazing viewpoints. (65-80 Millions years ago)
20:00: End of the tour and we back to Alghero
