Further information
Explore the central-eastern coast of Sardinia with an off-road experience to admire its history, nature, and enogastronomic culture.
You will cross the countryside and reach the pristine wetlands of the Su Barone SIC (Site of Community Importance), an area characterized by a pine forest framing an extensive sandy beach, interrupted only by the limestone cliffs of the Gulf of Orosei and distinguished by the marvelous emerald color of the sea.In these wetlands, which are extremely rich in biodiversity and protected by numerous international conventions, with the expert guidance of Simone, you will have the opportunity to observe the abundant marsh birdlife. You will admire white herons, grey herons, little egrets, skilled cormorants, coots, and numerous migratory species such as pink flamingos or the noisy Italian knights. The enchanting atmosphere of this corner of paradise takes on a romantic touch when you see the traditional fishing traps or groups of local fishermen engaged in the gathering of clams.
There will be a short break before we head towards the Nuraghe Gulunie in Osalla, one of the best-preserved nuraghes in the area and the only one with such panoramic views of the Gulf of Orosei. Its strategic position stretches along the coast to the north, reaching the mouth of the Cedrino River, and extends to the south, encompassing the small gem of Osala Beach in Dorgali.
Next, we will visit a farm immersed in the Orosei countryside. Here, we will meet the owner of a winery who will take us on a pleasant stroll through the rows of Cannonau grape cultivation, the artisan behind the namesake and renowned oenological excellence of Sardinia. The experience concludes with a local tasting, featuring glasses of red, white, or rosé wine and typical Orosei products such as bread, honey, and olive oil.
